sol y Mar Hotels,
The hotel company driven to restore the balance of the Mediterranean Sea is joining our Plastic Free Oceans commitment by not only removing almost 6 tonnes of plastic from the sea but also involving its customers in this mission.
For every direct booking on its websites, Sol y Mar Hoteles will collect 1kg of plastic from the sea, the equivalent of more than 1 million plastic bags.
TOTAL KG OF PLASTIC COLLECTED FROM THE SEA
The equivalent in weight of 102,400 plastic bags.

HOW DID THIS COLLABORATION COME ABOUT?
This agreement stems from the firm commitment that the family hotel group, a benchmark in holiday tourism on the Costa Blanca, has to sustainability, being for the company one of the main bases of its pillars for the future, involving its customers with this action.
The commitment of Sol y Mar Hoteles to tackle plastic pollution is not only reflected in this agreement. In recent years, the chain has carried out various corporate social responsibility projects in this area, such as the reduction of plastic waste in all departments of the company, an essential requirement to achieve Bioscore Certification.
“Ocean sustainability is an essential way of operating for the hotel industry in today’s market. By cleaning plastic from the sea, hotels like these not only distinguish themselves from other hotels but also contribute in a measurable way to reducing pollution in the Mediterranean, preserving its biodiversity, and raising awareness among the population and travellers as part of a sustainable and quality experience. Keeping our seas and beaches clean is essential if we want to maintain our tourism”.
